This article examines the investment lending activities of commercial banks under conditions
of modernization and diversification of the national economy’s sectors. Based on recent data from the Central
Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international financial institutions, and scientific publications, the volume of
the banking system’s loan portfolio, its sectoral distribution, the level of non-performing loans, and the practice
of financing investment projects are studied. The research identifies the key factors affecting the efficiency of
investment lending and develops scientific and practical recommendations aimed at addressing them.
